Beauty and the Beast

I chose this as my featured deviation because it was the first drawing of Yeti and Zee I ever did, and it was the first drawing I ever gave to my beloved. But besides that, it is a really good drawing that I'm actually proud of, and it deserves more attention that it got.

Dislaimer: if you read this, you can't be angry about anything I say.

Is it just me, or are people rude these days? People on trains, on streets, on phones... People are rude, selfish and shallow. Am I some sort of relic of a by-gone era? Is it not 'cool' to be polite and considerate anymore? Is it not hip to actually put others before yourself as an act of courtesy? Everyday, I hear something or see something that makes me feel out of place even more. Where I will always address someone as sir or ma'am when not given a title or name, I rudely get called 'lady', as if I shouldn't be referred to with some respect - especially when I have you item's warranty in my hands. and it's not like I don't give them my name either.

I heard someone this morning on the train going off at a woman because she was 'too slow to get off the train'. Obviously someone had picked her up on her behaviour or something, because I saw her just push her way onto a train.

And yesterday, while walking from the station to work, I had this loud mouthed teenage creature behind me, practically yelling in my ear while talking to her friends about how 'she needed to get a boyfriend before the holidays ended because omg her friend dared her to and she had to beat her'.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

I consider that the very hieght of stupidity and rudeness. Other people don't want to hear how shallow you are little girl. And you certainly shouldn't be looking for a relationship because some other idiot fucking dared you. I always thought that you had to have feelings for someone before you actually considering asking them out on a date. Do people even do that anymore, dates? Or is that 'uncool' too?

Uh. And another example. I was talking to a slightly older gentleman, and I asked him for the serial number of his PlayStation. He then asked his son if he could please unplug it and bring it over, as the phone wouldn't reach that far. I didn't think this was an unfair request. Apparently the kid (who seemed about my age, maybe a little younger) thought differently. He went off at his father, absolutely yelling and screaming about his dad being lazy, and asking how fucking hard it was to unplug two cables to get the machine, etc etc.

Please shoot me should I ever act like that.

And another! My workmate was talking to a customer (I could hear some of this, and was told the story after), and this cutomer asked his wife: "Honey, could you get me a pen?" and she went off as well. Yelling about how he should get off his ass and stop being lazy. So he went and got the pen obviously, but forgot the paper, and asked her to pass the one next to her - and yes, you guessed it. She spazzed out... again. Sweet Gods, what kind of world do I live in?

I always believed in Karma, the law of three. What goes around, comes back threefold. I always treated people as I would expect myself to be treated... but to hear these things disheartens me greatly. It's hard to have faith in society when it's people like this who are cool.

And it was people who acted like this who made me the outcast in school. I don't get it, why is being rude cool? I was always polite, I didn't tease people... sweet gods. I don't think I should be alive in this era. Send me back to a time where people didn't abuse people on the streets for doing nothing, and didn't insult the people on support lines trying to help them... and a time where people had enough respect for a woman to NOT EAT DURING A PHONE CALL. (Just had a call then).

Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about myself.

My nickname is Zeki, and I'm approximately 19 years old (Born of the 12th May 1990). I'm an aspiring concept artist from Australia, and I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil.

I have a steady boyfriend who I love very much, and a cat I adore. I couldn't live without either of them, and it's those two who inspire me and save me.

Oh well, enjoy the art.
